Solid Waste Collections

Middlesex has it’s own solid waste collection program.  Curbside pickup is every Monday morning. (ie:  matresses, furniture, etc.) please have curbside by 7:30am. We also have GFL as our trash vendor. They pick up trash every Thursday and recycle every other Friday. The monthly fee is $20.75 for residential pickup and $29.75 for business pickup.  In addition, there is a $3.50 per month recycle fee, bringing the total charge to $24.25 for residents and $32.75 for businesses.    Garbage carts and recycle carts are provided by the Town.

Containers

The Town provides all residences with one 96 gallon green trash cart and one 96 gallon blue recycle cart. Residential customers recieve one trash cart and one recycle cart. Business customers receive two trash carts and an unlimited number of recycle carts, as needed. Citizens are responsible for their carts, and are encouraged to keep them neat and clean. All household garbage must be tied in bags, placed inside the container(s) and placed curbside on the scheduled pick-up day.

Special Waste

Yard waste pickup is on Tuesdays. Please help the town personnel to provide quicker service by placing leaves, pine straw, and pine cones curbside.  Yard debris is not collected with the trash truck, so please do not use the town-issued trash or recycle carts to collect your debris. All limbs must be cut in lengths no longer than four (4) feet.  Bulk items such as white goods and furniture are to be placed curbside on Mondays.

Large bulk items or several bulk items are considered special bulk pickup. A special request is required and can be made through the Town Hall.  These collections are subject to the availability of equipment and personnel and additional costs may be involved. Construction or demolition debris is not allowed.   We pick up only objects and materials that are permitted in the Nash County landfill.
